Our body weight is represented by approximately 60% water. Our system uses water in all its cells, organs, and tissues to maintain bodily functions. Water regulates the body temperature and keeps the tissues in our bodies moist.

Keeping the body hydrated helps to retain optimum levels of moisture in these sensitive areas, as well as in the blood, bones, and the brain. Also, water helps protect the spinal cord, and it acts as a lubricant and cushion for our joints.

Water improves the blood oxygen circulation and has a positive impact on our overall health. Also, it prevents medical conditions as: constipation, kidney stones, exercise-induced asthma, urinary tract infection, and hypertension.

Water is the primary component of saliva. Saliva also contains electrolytes, mucus, and enzymes. Saliva is essential for mastication and for keeping our mouth healthy.

The organism loses water through breathing, sweating, and digestion. It is essential to stay hydrated by drinking fluids and eating foods rich in water.

Water helps with nutrient absorption and it aids in dissolving the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients from the food we consume. Then, it delivers the vitamin components to the rest of the body.

During an illness, it is important to assure the required levels of water in the organism. During health issues like colds we tend to lose fluids, so increasing the fluid intake will help us to restore the body’s natural hydration levels.

Drinking a large quantity of water during physical activities is significant because water affects our strength, power, and endurance. The lack of water during intensive training could lead to serious medical conditions as blood pressure and hyperthermia.

In addition to the mentioned benefits, according to recent studies, water assists in losing weight. It is proved that drinking more water while dieting and exercising will help us to lose extra pounds.

Water preserves the skin health and beauty. Studies showed, that dehydration can make the skin become more vulnerable to skin disorders and premature wrinkling.

Drinking water may help boost energy by activating the metabolism. One study found that drinking 500 milliliters of water boosted the metabolic rate by 30 percent in both men and women.

The amount of water required depends on multiple factors, like the physic activity, health issues, and climate.

Every day, we lose water through the body, and it needs to be replaced. We notice that we lose water through activities such as sweating and urination, but water is lost even when breathing.
