Funny flu quotes and memes

I get the feeling that lately we took the concern with flu and viruses way to serious and it is okay to let the worry chill for a moment, by reading some funny flu quotes and bring a smile on our faces.

Starting with flu quotes:

Bombeck’s rule of Medicine: Never go to a doctor whose office plants have died.

“One of the minor pleasures in life is to be slightly ill.” Harold Nicholson

The doctor tells the patient he has very bad flu. The patient says he wants a second opinion. The doctor says, ”OK, you’re ugly too”.

“A doctor is the only man without a guaranteed cure for the cold”. Dominic Cleary

“The art of medicine consists in amusing the patient while nature affects the cure.” Voltaire

“If a doctor treats your cold, it will go away in fourteen days. If you leave it alone, it will go away in two weeks. Gloria Silverstein

A man walks into the pharmacy and asks the pharmacist, ”Do you have any acetylsalicylic acid?”
“Do you mean aspirin?” says the pharmacist.
“That’s it, I can never remember that word.”

“My dear doctor, I’m surprised to hear you say that I am coughing very badly, because I have been practicing all night.” John Philpot Curran

“I don’t know how not to get the flu.”  Alfred W. Crosby

“Chain letters are the postal equivalent of intestinal flu: you get it and pass it along to your friends.” Bob Garfield

Ending with flu memes:

To be mentioned, that the source of the memes is: Google Images.

Flu symptoms and hope

I don’t know what is happening to me in the last few days but I don’t feel so good. My energy is all drained and I feel like I am failing to perform even the easiest tasks at home and work.

In the morning when I wake up my body is weak and every muscle is hurting me, my head aches so bad and I have fever. The eyes are swollen and I can barely open them as I tend to weep.

My voice is changed and I cough now and then and I am dizzy, failing to pay attention at things being disturbed by a tinnitus. My chest is in pain and I can barely speak as the tonsils are swollen.

My food appetite is low and I mostly eat fluid foods and drink a lot of tea and water. I have chills and if now I am hot in the next minute I am so cold that nothing could make me feel warm again.

Yesterday I thought that maybe the change of program at work and the working hours could interfere with my physical state but I think it is something else. With this constant change of weather the organism tends to fail.

The day before yesterday, outside were only 18 degrees, with sun and warm wind and yesterday it was snow and -1 degree. No wonder flu and other diseases are so easy to appear and affect the body.

Now I am treating myself with hot lemon tea with herbs, Theraflu and vitamin C to help the body recover. In a few hours I have to get ready for work and start a new productive day, ignoring the flu that catches me in its nets.

I am hopeful as the weekend approaches and I am free to stay in the bed, rest and recover from the flu. How is your week going? 🙂

Wednesday check-up and the law of attraction

In all of this storm with many worries, work-related tasks and home duties as you might know from my latest posts I managed to take a few minutes a day to listen to some motivational speakings and to discover more about the law of attraction.

During this time with many tasks and activities, I managed to think, even if I had the flashbacks about what could wrong, about what could go right and how this could change my life.

I started with tiny steps, and had small requests for myself, like: Today I am not going to miss the bus and save some money (because being late meant I had to take a cab). In the beginning, it was hard because I always had to do some „important” tasks before going to work.

Realizing exactly that what I am doing was not right I started planning and shortened the list of my tasks during the workdays. Being focused on the time spent and planning things to happen in my way and my benefit things started to work better and I could see an improvement.

If today I created my „to do” list, and performed everything planned in time at home, managed to arrive at work and not be late then the law of attraction worked in my way because I wanted to. Yes, I had to push myself and stop procrastinating, yes I had in mind and repeated to myself the fact that I have control over what’s happening.

I came to realize that in some days if I have trained my mind and remembered myself previously that I won’t be late at work and had faith that I will arrive in time then the Universe granted me that thing right away. For example, if I had arrived at the station at 15:10 and I had to be at work at 15:30, then a bus will arrive in front of me within those intermediate 10 minutes and take me to work.

Another thing that has had worked for me today was the doctor check-up. Even if I was nervous and afraid about what could happen, have been worried and concerned about my health I kept in mind that things will go well. My body was shaking and I felt so down and had so many questions in mind but deep down I knew that things will go right.

I trained my mind to be confident and considerate, taking things as they are and accept them but with a positive outcome taking the good things only. So I said to myself: Kate, today might be OK or might be bad, but you only have the answer to what will be because you will have the power to change what is happening.

Staying in the waiting room and expected for my turn I even conclude that I need to go through good and bad in this life. There is no way we can skip the challenges and the pain, and going through it would make me a better person, the one I am today.

With all the ups and downs, at the end of the check-up, the doctor looked me in the eyes and confirmed that everything is OK and that I am healthy. I was so happy at that moment that I could feel like a hard stone was raising from my heart and that I was free.

That hard stone was not necessarily the result of my previous experiences but the negative thinking that took place in my brain. Adding every single day a new stone to the burden deep down in the suffering heart, I simply made my life hard. Thinking negative and getting myself into depression was not a clever choice.

Having to go through hardships in life changes you and your way of thinking, makes you learn new amazing things that could not be learned while being happy and in your comfort zone. Yes, it’s painful and yes tears and letting go might be involved but that is the only way you get to mature and to transform yourself.

At the end of the day, I am thankful to God for bringing me in this very moment while being healthy at home, writing to you, dear readers about the benefits of believing in the law of attraction, having faith in God and being positive.

3. Mention the creator of the award and write his words out.

4. Answer the five questions you were asked.

5. Tell the readers three things about yourself.

7. Notify your Nominees by commenting on any of their blog posts.

8. Ask your nominees five questions with one weird or funny one.

9. Share a link back to your best posts.

3 Things About myself:

  • I am very eager to learn new things and to continually develop;
  • I love everything that I do in the present and I am grateful to God for bringing me in the present;
  • I never give up.

Questions that I have to answer to:

1.What is your favorite past time ?

I like to think in the past at only the things that made me happy. At the gorgeous moments that made me laugh and enjoy life from the bottom of my heart. At the moments when I learned new amazing things and I developed myself as a person and as an individual in the society.

Also, as George Harrison stated: “It’s being here now that’s important. There’s no past and there’s no future. Time is a very misleading thing. All there is ever, is the now. We can gain experience from the past, but we can’t relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don’t know if there is one.”

2. What is your favorite book to read ? Why ?

Regarding favorite books I have a full theory. I am more of a person that ignores SF movies but absolutely enjoys the presence of the unknown fantastic reality in books. So, my favorite books are the Vampire Series, Anne Rice and her famous Vampire writings, The Vampire Academy, Harry Potter etc.

3. Who do you think will out smart the other the Road Runner or Daffy Duck ?

It’s actually impossible to determine which one is the most clever and ambiguous from these two characters. Their personalities are pretty strong and different, so I tend to believe that it’s impossible to out smart one another.

4. What would you be doing on a rainy day ?

That pretty much depends on what I plan to do on a specific day. If its during the week I have to grab an umbrella and go to work. If it’s the weekends I prefer to do home activities, clean up the house or simply relax myself with a cup of hot lemon tea while writing on the blog.

5. What is your favorite type of music to listen to ?

I don’t usually stick to one single type of music. If in the past I listened more to pop music, now I am more into K-Pop and commercial music. But there are times when I like to listen to jazz, piano even opera. Also, I might listen out of the blue to rock music, depending on my mood.

Victor Hugo stated: “Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.” I believe it will be too silent to listen to only one type of music.

My lucky nominees are:

  1. Sussie’s Opinions
  2. Philosophy through Photography
  3. Matthew C
  4. Kindness Blog
  5. Lidea
  6. Meteodu
  7. Betul
  8. Sandra J
  9. Tangie Woods
  10. Chatting with San

The questions for my nominees:

  1. What is your favorite quote?
  2. Describe 3 things that characterize you the most and define you as a person!
  3. What is your opinion on the Law of Attraction Subject?
  4. What do you like the most about the Spring Season?
  5. If you would have to start all over again in this life, what will be your first step or the journey?

Estee Lauder Double Stay in Place Review

Hello, dear readers! So, today I wanted to share with you my opinion regarding the foundation Estee Lauder Double Stay in Place. I heard so many positive things about this product before and a few months back I decided to give it a try.

As you might know, having sensitive skin and acne-prone makes it difficult to identify a product that might actually work for you. I am saying this because I kept looking for the perfect product since my acne problems started long ago, and nothing seemed to really work.

Most of the products that I have used in the past either looked good on the skin after applying them, but shortly after you could see the difference, you could see clearly the imperfections out of the skin, which in time became oily and hard to manage.

As you know I have tried in the past also the revolutionary Revlon Foundation. It worked for about a few months until I managed to observe that my skin does not really go well with it. It’s a heavy foundation that is hard to remove from the face, it becomes oily and it’s not the right answer, at least not for me.

Estee Lauder Double Stay in Place Foundation

At the moment, this foundation is No. 1 in the US and not only. Estee Lauder Double Stay in Place comes in all skin tones, all undertones. It is a matte foundation that looks flawless and natural, feels lightweight and comfortable.

The best part of this foundation is that it is a long-wear product, it’s oil-free and oil-controlling, and moreover is transfer-resistant, and the waterproof formula lasts longer in humid and hot places.

For me, Estee Lauder Double Stay in Place is the best answer until now. I can go to work and stay even 12 hours, my skin does not get oily, looks fresh and clean.

Also, it is easy to wear and doesn’t act too harshly with the skin. Making a comparison with Revlon, Estee Lauder it’s a miracle. Revlon became oily after the first 2 hours, had no transfer resistance at all, it was hard to wear on the skin and worsened my skin condition.

With Estee Lauder Double Stay in Place sometimes I even forget that I am wearing it. It is so comfortable to wear and kind with the skin, thing that simply makes me love it.

Also, when I arrive at home I make sure that I cleanse my face well, and rarely I can observe any skin eruptions and those when I go too over the board with the consumption of dairy products.

Yes, the price is a little bit spicy but it deserves its payment, I rather purchase a more expensive product and use it wisely than spend less and cause harm to my skin and self-respect.

I use to buy the foundation from Sephora as it is more close to my workspace and the employees are really great and offer great advice about the skin and not only. I would totally recommend this product as for me it works the best, I have no complaints about it so far and I am a happy customer 😄.

What is your opinion about Estee Lauder Double Stay in Place?
